Who's the best player from Notre Dame?

Ok I've grown bored with my quot;favorite moviequot; from various actors threads, so I'm starting up with best player from various universities threads.   Up first.....Notre Dame

I'm sure I forgot people, but I'm trying to  put up the most likely candidates and be fairly inclusive (for example in this case I left of Joe Theisman and John Carney, not thinking that anyone would give them serious consideration in any case).  If I forgot any that you think should be there, just post them.  It won't help in the poll, but might generate discussion.

lol he's the first player that came to my mind when I saw the post.

Obviously I never saw him play but I did see the movie and he is always talked about as the best the Irish ever had.

I left him off because he never played in the NFL.  He died of strep throat in the 1920's, but looking at his career ND statistics I think you're right.  I should have included him.  He has his own website

Yup, and if the 4th one down was Jim Brown instead of Tim, I might have had to actually think a little on this one ! lol
