Sideshow Iron Man Comiquette - Light-up Base
I was curious how difficult / expensive would it be to have a pair of light-up bases made for my comiquettes?

Good luck! Let me know how you get on, sounds like a great idea!!
I think there are 2 ways. 1) You have to recast the base using clear resin or some sort then paint the base except the broken lines. Then put led light underneath. (This method is forbidden though since recasting is a no no). 2) You can use dremmel to crack open the broken lines until it go through a long the lines then fill them up with clear resin or epoxy. Put led light underneath. I have not try any of the above methods but they cross my mind few months ago since I also like to have lighted up base for my ironman.
It might be cheaper to achieve the result by having the base repainted.
How about glow in the dark paint?
It might not shine as bright but still might give the effect you want.
You could also do like Rider said and Dremmel out the cracks you want lit but, instead of filling them with clear resin. You could glue in those string lights they use for lightsabers. I believe they are cathode strings. I can't find the site, though.
Glow in the dark paint is the way to go!
Might be the most practical way to go. |
