Help, need advice on a possible trade I might make!!!

ok, here's the story. I know a guy who has a REALLY nice piece of artwork from the Artist Giorgio Comolo (I have a bunch of his work). He's willing to do a cash/trade deal with me. The only problem is that the pieces he wants from me are 3 Ron Lim pieces that I commissioned a while back.
Now, I can obviously get the pieces replaced from Ron, but there is a sentimental value to them as well as the fact that Ron is a friend and I don't like to sell/trade away stuff I get from friends (though I did pay for the pieces, so they weren't gifts).
All things considered, would you guys trade the three Lim pieces below (all on 11x14 Bristol Board) and Cash (the $$ is fair given the value I am receiving for the Lim pieces) for the Comolo piece pictured below (22x17)?

yes  the comolo is stunning,,,,but i know nothing about art so the $ value i have no idea///good luck drew

I know this probably won't be much help but it is a totally subjective decision.  For me, if I could afford it, I would go cash only.  Buy the additional piece and keep the old, or in the alternative, talk to your friend and try to get him to draw for the guy you want to trade with at a discount ( a sort of finders fee for sending him the business) to offset some of the cost.
Otherwise, I would keep the 3, if it was me, but then I'm not familiar with either artist and have no idea on the relative values of their work.

Depends what you want more, I guess.

Thankfully I haven't been put in a position where I someone wanted me to give up pieces I own in a trade.

That being said the Comolo piece is stunning so I would lean towards doing the trade.

I don't know much on the value of the artists you mentioned, but based off the pics, I wouldn't let that Fantastic Four piece go, I really like that one.  The other two I don't care for as much.  I would probably try to trade those two and some cash for the one you want.

But as you said, they have sentimental value, so I can't really advise you on this, I'm just going off looks.

I would probably pull the trigger Drew ... if you really miss the 3 pics you will get them redone ...

Ditto!

The real question is, why aren't those Ron Lim pieces framed?

I think if you had them inked and colored they'd look just as good if not better than the Comolo piece.

do it, I love the other pieces you have from comolo , damn one day I have to bother you and get you to go to kinkos and give me a scan of those for my book!

you can always get ron to make you another 3 panels with no problem, how often will Comolo art be available, plus with the U.S. dollar taking a beating these days  you might as well do it !

I'd rather own the three Ron Lim pieces.
