My Hard Hero Thor got munched in the mail (ebay purchase), leaving a small scratch and half-inch diameter rub on the front of his cape. If it wasn't right in front I wouldn't sweat it, but it's got just enough of a quot;shinequot; to it, coupled with the scratch, that I notice it. It looks like a little red touch up paint could fix it, but I don't want to use the wrong color and the paint is flat red with no shading, so any color variance will be easily noticed I'm afraid and I don't want to make it look worse. Should I even try to touch it up?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
snap a piece of the cape off and take it to home depot. they will match the paint for you.
If it truly bugs you, you can try and mix a color to match if you can't find one ready made. Games Workshop makes a couple of shades of red, as does Vallejo paints. Barring that, Apple Barrel and Delta Ceramcoat make various shades of red as well. You may need to take a couple of the red colors and play around w/ mixing until you get the color correct. Each of these colors dry matte.
You can get the Games Workshop paints at one of their stores, or you can likely find it at a gaming store. The Vallejo paint line is usually carried by well stocked hobby shops. The Apple Barrel and the Ceramcoat colors can be found at Michaels or Hobby Lobby.
Good luck!
Thanks, Rick!

Hey Mastermold, you might want to try and e-mail Hard Hero and ask if they can tell you what brand and color of red paint was used on the paint master copy (that was sent to China).

Great idea, I'll give it a try. They may just respond, never know if I don't ask.
Edit: Sent them an email. I'll post here whether I get a reply.
Still no reply from HH on the touch up paint.
Rob from HH sent me a nice email -- sadly they don't have off the shelf touch up but he gave me a few suggestions on what paint I might try. I'll give it a shot!
Cool! That's great that Robb helped you out! HH rocks!!!
Sweet. Props to Rob and HH for helping their customers out. |
