no, i dont collect these

Did they even look at the poster before sculpting this? What's up with Luke? Code 3 just sucks with human sculpts.

I've got all of the Star Wars sculpted posters so far but I'm going to pass on this one. It's my own personal boycott against Code 3. I'm not buying another one of their products until they release another die-cast vehicle.
That ought to show them!

I preordered one. I may cancel it later on if the final product doesn't look more like the Chaykin poster. Either that or I may give it to my brother for Christmas. I don't collect the Code 3 poster products, but since it's the 30th anniversary at SDCC, I'm making an exception. Plus, with all the crap I'm planning on bringing home, I'm going to get grief from my wife so what's one more little item?

Why the red sabers!?  I still find it funny that they reversed the red/green on the ROTJ poster.

The bottom left of this is the worst, aside from the X-wing everything looks awfully cluttered.

That's actually how the official poster was released.
If you take a close look at the actual poster, likeness was quot;already offquot; so that shouldn't be a problem with this 3D poster . The details that bug me on Code 3 item are :
- Luke's face should be more agressive
- he should have blonde hair
- Vader's helmet eyes should be red
- they removed the title (early design and ANH issues, I guess).
Correct these and you'll end up with a nice rendering of a Star Wars story milestone I may buy.

More infos from Toysrgus website :The first piece of merchandise designed for public consumption also carried the logo; it's scribed discreetly in the lower corner of the famous quot;Luke Skywalker Poster #1.quot; This poster is highly coveted not only for its status as an early limited piece (1000 were printed), but also for its attention-grabbing design by famed comic illustrator Howard Chaykin. It was only available in the summer of 1976 at the Worldcon in Kansas City and the Comicon in San Diego. It seems to be the only piece of pre-release material specifically designed to evoke the swashbuckling appeal of Star Wars, probably because it was to target the comic book youth market. (The design would be translated in a slightly altered form onto the cover of Marvel's Star Wars #1, technically also a pre-release item, having first sold in March of '77.)
I love Luke's black hair...lol.

This really looks like crap IMO.
