Colossus 1:4 scale (Paint in Progress)
Here's a paint in progress of our newly finished Colossus piece (1:4 scale). Hope to hear some comments on how to improve on the paints, thanks!
the paint doesn't look natural.. why use blacks in all the creases?
Looks great! I like that better than the chrome.

Impressive peice of work !
Pearl T!
How do you make this guy lean so much and not fall down? The action pose is just amazing!
The paint on the Colossus is making this statue come alive PT. Beautiful job my man. Two things seem to throw this statue off...the belt, the yellow tips from the boots and wristbands. Was this done on purpose?
@ alcortez: thanks for the comment, I'm trying to experiment on a different approach for colossus. Although statue details should speak for itself, I feel adding up quot;highlightsquot; on the creases would make the details pop out better.
@ Darth, rhyche, neil and alex: thanks for appreciating.I'm actually thinking if I'm overdoing the quot;oxidized metalquot; look. Should I clean up a bit or stay where I am now?
@ Ave: hey bro what's up! I guess just use some really sturdy steel inside. The original sculpt which was a lot heavier (mixed media of plumber's putty, sculpey and resin) stood without falling for more than 6 months. This resin proto have been standing like that for more than 2 months already.

Hey man, thanks for visiting. Oh yeah, I forgot about the yellow tips on the boots, I should put that I just realized now that we didn't put back what we took off from the belt when we're trying to fix this sculpt so I'll try to fix that up also. |
