I'm just wondering how many of you collectors collect statues and comics for the fun and relaxation of it, Or just buy statues to flip them for the money, or both collect for fun and profit.
With me I have been collecting comics for over 20yrs on and off, then I start collecting action figures, then in the last six months I have started collecting statues. These I collect for the fun of it and I will pass down my comics and statues to my kids.
The only bad thing I have saw since collecting comics, was when Captain America #25 came out, I bought the two diffrent covers, one of each. Then a guy in a suit came in wanting to buy twenty copies the thing is he did not know the diffrence between Captain America and Captain Crunch
Both. I buy mostly for myself but sometimes I'll buy something just to flip it, like SS Mary Jane for instance.....
I buy to enjoy.

I buy to enjoy. Flipping is actually a lot more work than most would have you believe....I'm lazy.
I buy only what I enjoy. My office at home is my favorite place in the world (outside of Panama City Beach, that is) because practically all my super hero statues, figures, trading cards, artwork, etc., is in there. Flipping, although it could be profitable sometimes, just wouldn't be worth it for me.

I used to go to Panama City all the time with my family when I was little and living in Georgia. I'm living in Orlando now and haven't been there in years. I've heard it's miles different from what I remember now.
But on topic: I collect for the enjoyment. On occasion I do flip things, but that's typically just to put some money back into the hobby to buy even more stuff I want.
I buy what I like. Problem is, there's way too much stuff I like!
The enjoyment factor is more important to me than the money. If my quot;toysquot; happen to appreciate in value, it's an added bonus, not a motivating factor.
I have occasionally bought something in duplicate, to swap for other stuff I may want. But I've never picked up something for the sole purpose of resale. Any dupes I've gotten (and passed along) have been used as trade, not sold for profit.
I havent flipped or sold anything....
