Great Statue, Bad Paint?

I just got a statue in the mail today.  It's the Bowen Sabertooth statue, and the sculpt is killer.  The painjob on the other hand is amateur at best.  There are visible brush or wipe marks on the brown parts of the costume, horrible overspray everywhere, and the face is covered in pink streaks.  The base paint looks pretty good but the figure paintjob is a big letdown.  It looks nothing like the mockup in the Bowen photos.

I have two options.  Sell this one and roll the dice on another statue or have it professionally re-painted the way I want it to look.  I have the Logan statue, and the paint is perfect, so I really want a good set.  I decided to schedule an appointment with a professional painter who will completely re-do the statue.  This will add some expense to the cost of the statue, but I don't ever plan on selling it.  

What I want to know is, how many of you have had a statue repainted?  Would you do it often if money was not a factor?  Do you think it is in some way quot;wrongquot; to have pre-paint statues repainted?  Do you think I am headed down a long road where I find something wrong with every statue I buy and have them all repainted?

I am not second guessing my decision in the least.  I want an exceptional statue and I am willing to pay extra to get it.  I just wondered if other people feel the same way.  I have other statues that I will eventually get repainted, and others that I am very happy with straight from the factory.  I hope in the long run that I buy more statues that look great out of the box.  But if the paintjob is lacking, I have no problem finding someone who can do a real paintjob on them.

Anyone want to discuss repaints?

If you're unhappy by the paint up of any statue then I see no problem getting it repainted!!

I've considered repainting some busts I have but that will happen when I have extra $$$.

I have the FS Sabretooth from Bowen amp; I had no problems w/ the paint up on that one. I suggest you just repaint yours.

I think, if you have the cash, and the statue is bothering you that much, you should get it repainted.

I'm going to eventually get my Thanos repainted-I love the darker jobs some of the other guys had done, really make the sculpt pop!

That BD Sabretooth statue is one of my favorite pieces from them! Perfect rendition of the charater IMO. Mine too has a flawless paint job and I wouldn't even think about selling or altering it in any way. With that said, I agree that you should simply get the statue repainted. I can't see anybody doing a much better job sculptwise on this character than what BD has done.
