The Commercials Are Ruining AMC's Fear-Fest
I don't think they're even bothering w/ a full 5 minutes of movie time before they vomit out another block of ads...and the The Walking Dead cookie in the bottom left of the screen, is never taken down. This sucks! You can't even loose yourself in a good horror movie w/o an add for Boniva interrupting the vibe every chance it can. There's no pacing. Dammit....I was looking so forward to this.
The violence editing is so severe on the Friday the 13th films, I'd argue that AMC has completely lost their balls. They're a cable company for gosh' sakes. Would it kill them to leave a little more blood in? They're taking all the horror out of horror movies, while at the same time touting how horrific Fear Fest is in interrupting self-promotion. The person in charge can't be a horror movie fan, they just can't be.Remember when AMC was commercial free, like TCM?

I also remember when ATM's were free as well. Once they sucker you in and build an audience, here come the commercials/fees. I also remember hearing fewer commercials on regular radio when Howard Stern went to satellite but they are back to their quot;we'll play 2 songs and then play 5 minutes of commercialsquot; ways.
that sucks!

I wish I could! We didn't get cable until about 6 years ago, so we've always seen commercials on AMC, and I agree: they run a ton of them. A 2-hour movie can sometimes stretch out to 3 hours... no joke!
I'm old enough to remember when cable meant absolutely no commercials, period. Your cable bill paid the networks costs.
God forbid TCM takes this turn but, it's gotta happen someday.
Yeah, same here with the old-school cable. And I think it only cost my parents around $14/month in the '80s for the full setup. Of course, if you didn't want all the extra channels, you simply hooked up your antenna and could make do just fine.
Nowadays, it seems you need cable to get any kind of reception at all just for the basic networks.
It's a damn crime, is what it is! Feh, progress!
I really can't believe everyone doesn't enjoy having Madmen and Rubicon shoved down their throats every 5 minutes!!!!
Drives me nuts just trying to watch the 3 Stooges on Sunday mornings. |
